Ice cream Day 2024: the passion of All the time in a Contest virtual.

The contest, in its third edition, is promoted by Artglace (Confederation of Associations of Artisan Gelato Makers of the European Community) and will take place from 01 March to 30 September 2024.


The initiative is aimed at artisanal gelato makers who carry out their activities on the European territory with a dual purpose:

  • greater promotion, through video images, of the "Gaufre de Liège": the official flavour of the European Artisan Gelato Day 2024,
  • the desire to remain united, despite the distances, to celebrate together the 12th anniversary of GDay.

Participation is free of charge; Each ice cream maker will have to send a video of a maximum duration of 90 Seconds, concerning the preparation and presentation of the official flavour of the 12th Gday "Gaufre de Liège".

For the preparation of the "Gaufre de Liège" Only the ingredients provided for in the official recipe, published and downloadable on the website, must be used and on the Facebook page 24 March European Gelato Day.

The video must be sent within the deadlines established by these regulations (see point 5. – methods and terms of delivery of the video material).

Videos made in languages other than Italian and English must be accompanied by a specific written translation (Word or PDF) in the above languages, in order to allow a better and faster evaluation by the jury.

The members of the selection committee and their family members are excluded from the "competition", as well as all those who collaborate in various ways in the organization of the "competition".

Notwithstanding that participation in the contest is aimed at European artisan ice cream makers, videos from non-European countries will still be published and a certificate of participation will be issued.



Videos must be made in high definition (a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels is recommended), in MP4 format; everybody the video in format different Not Will Published.

Videos not related to the promotion of the official taste of GDay "Gaufre de Liège" will not be published.


Each participant will have to send their contact details in addition to the video to be contacted later.

The videos must be delivered online, through or similar programs, to the e-mail address:

  1. JURY

A technical jury is set up consisting of a minimum of three members chosen from among professionals and experts in the artisan ice cream supply chain.

The jury will express its judgment, with the scoring system from 1 to 10, evaluating the following parameters:

  1. originality of the presentation,
  2. video quality,
  3. Illustration of the taste production process "Gaufre de Liège"
  4. Aesthetics and decoration of the tray

In the event of a tie in the votes, the video with the shortest duration will be declared the winner.

The jury's decision is final.



The first three European gelato makers will receive a plaque.

All gelato makers (European and non-European) will receive a certificate of participation (see paragraph 8)


The awards and certificates will be presented during the presentation ceremony of the 12th GDay, which will be held at the Rimini Exhibition Centre, on the occasion of Sigep 2025.


Given the tight deadlines, in order to proceed more quickly, the following is specified: the sending of the video will constitute a formal request for adhesion of the participants to the initiative, whose acceptance will be subject to the opinion of Artglace which, having verified the relevance of the contents with these regulations, will publish the video through the channels referred to in paragraph 10 below.

The information provided by the gelato makers in each video is acquired by the Organizer, who will be free to publish it before, during and after the Event.

The gelato makers irrevocably and exclusively assign to Artglace the right to use the videos and the information contained and/or attached therein, including the image, voice, name, declarations as well as any authorial and/or artistic contributions, amateur or not, and all related rights of economic exploitation (referred to in articles 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 18-bis of Law no. 633/1941 and subsequent amendments and additions).

Each participant declares and warrants that he/she is the exclusive owner of all rights, title and interest (including those of his/her family members or assistants involved in the video) of his/her image, signature, voice and portrait, life stories and biographical information, copyright, image and communication rights related to his/her name, nickname or pseudonym, image, portrait, voice, signature, photograph and other elements or attributes of your person, identity or personality (collectively, the "Property").

The ice cream maker who sees his video published undertakes to comply with the provisions of these regulations and grants the Organizer, and any third parties involved in the realization of this initiative, the right to use the ownership of the video and/or information material.



All gelato makers who send a video, in line with these regulations, will have the opportunity to make themselves known and increase their notoriety through:

Gelato Day YouTube channel, giving all the gourmands in the world the opportunity to Enter the laboratories and discover the work, mastery and creativity behind an excellent tub of ice cream, in anticipation of celebrating, on 24 March 2024, the twelfth edition of the European Day of Artisanal Gelato, created to enhance and support one of the most beloved gastronomic excellences on the planet.
